Conversations about Dating After the Loss of a Spouse or Partner

After the death of a spouse, dating again can seem inconceivable. Yet companionship is desirable. Many people have questions like:

  • How long is “proper” to wait before dating?
  • If I fell in love again, does that mean I didn’t really love my deceased spouse?
  • Am I dating/marrying for the right reasons?
  • How can I tell my children? Is it okay for me to even be thinking about dating?

These questions and many more are discussed in our Dating after a Loss workshops. Facilitated by Patti Comeau-Simonson from Hope and Healing with Peers, who has “been there” and will help you to take the steps into the dating world again. Even though dating can be awkward and difficult at times, it can also be a lot of fun. There’s no reason being a widow/widower should hold you back from enjoying a night out. Life is meant to be lived and dating is a great way to start living again.
